NEW TRUSTEES ELECTED
A new team of trustees was selected at a special general meeting of the Hickling Playing Field or Recreation Ground Charity on March 29, 2012. Three of them (Nick Baker, David Beales and Maggie Prettyman) stood for three elected positions and were returned unopposed. Six more were nominated by local groups or organisations (Brian Butcher – Phoenix Trust, Richard Cook – Football Club, Harry Purnell – Hickling Hunnies, Chris Watkins – Hickling Snooker Club, Lorraine West – Hickling School and Harvey Gibbons.).
The meeting was well attended by members of the charity (which means all parishioners aged 16 and above, and anyone who owns a property or business the parish of Hickling). All of the trustees were approved by a show of hands of those present.
At a meeting of the trustees on April 2, three people were co-opted as trustees because their skill and experience is beneficial for the running of the charity. They are David Pugh, Shirley Sainsbury and Viv Tallowin.
